Still Life Painting Workshop
with Regina Lyubovnaya - Thursday - Sunday July 23-26, 2026 from 9:00am - 4:00pm
Description
**This registration is for the complete 4-day workshop.** This immersive four-day workshop explores still life painting from concept to completion, emphasizing composition, light, and intentional brushwork with world-renowned artist Regina Lyubovnaya. Still life becomes a vehicle for storytelling—guiding the viewer’s eye through rhythm, contrast, and the movement of light and color. Participants will learn to design compelling compositions, thoughtfully arrange objects, and solve visual problems using value, color, edges, and brushwork. Inspired by artists such as Pushman, Carlsen, and Chardin, the focus is on moving beyond observation to create a personal, expressive vision. Day 1: Composition, design, and lighting. Students will build setups, complete quick block-ins, and explore value relationships and color harmony. Day 2: Full painting demonstration followed by guided studio work. Day 3: Continued refinement, with optional advanced setups (florals, patterns, or new arrangements). Day 4: Completion, critique, and discussion. **Regina's complete workshop and day-to-day schedule will be emailed to you upon registration, or sooner if requested.** Date: Thursday, July 23 - Sunday, July 26, 2026 Time: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm Age Requirements: Adults 18+, intermediate to advanced experience Supply List: (Regina's complete supply list recommendations will be emailed to you upon registration, or sooner if requested.) 2–4 smooth painting surfaces (11×14 to 16×20), toned with a light transparent ground Oil paints (limited palette including whites, cadmium yellows, cad red, alizarin, ultramarine, phthalo blue, ochres, umbers, red oxide) Brushes (#2–6 filberts + larger flat) Palette knife Glass palette (gray-toned) Medium (no solvents) Paper towels Soap Optional: still life props and fabric Artist Bio: Regina Lyubovnaya is a Russian-born painter trained at the Moscow Institute of Arts, Florence Academy, and Art Students League of New York.
