Starting with a pre-warped loom, you'll learn foundational weaving techniques while experimenting with color, texture, and pattern. With step-by-step guidance throughout the process, you'll leave with a finished piece ready to display in your home and the confidence to continue exploring the wonderful world of fiber art. Artist Instructor Bio: Raka Kingsland is the Lead Art Teacher for Indianapolis Public Schools, where she teaches visual art to students in grades K–5. Certified to teach K–12, Raka has been inspiring young artists for over eight years. She earned her degree in Special Education and Art Education from Valparaiso University and is passionate about making art accessible and meaningful for all learners. Originally born in India and raised in Indiana, Raka brings a unique perspective to her classroom, weaving together culture, storytelling, and creativity. She believes art is not only a way for students to explore technique and expression but also a tool to build confidence, community, and a lifelong appreciation for creativity.
