Winter Wonderland Art Adventures: Where creativity meets cozy, snowy magic! Step into a world of frosty forests, sparkling snow, and adorable arctic animals! In this winter-themed art class, young artists will explore a variety of exciting mediums — including painting, cardboard construction, and clay sculpting — while creating four whimsical seasonal masterpieces. This week's session is: 🍬Cardboard Gingerbread House🍬 Forget the sticky icing — this gingerbread house stands strong! Artists build and decorate their own 3D house using cardboard, fluffy “snow” glue, and a delightful mix of craft supplies like paper straws, glitter paper, felt, and buttons. A sweet creation without the sugar rush! By the end of the series, students will have gained confidence with multiple materials and techniques while celebrating the charm of winter through art. This is a joyful, cozy, creativity-packed experience perfect for artists of all ages! Date: Saturday, January 17, 2026 Time: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm Age Requirements: Children (5-12) and Teens (13-17), no experience required Supplies provided. Artist Instructor Bio: Raka Kingsland is the Lead Art Teacher for Indianapolis Public Schools, where she teaches visual art to students in grades K–5. Certified to teach K–12, Raka has been inspiring young artists for over eight years. She earned her degree in Special Education and Art Education from Valparaiso University and is passionate about making art accessible and meaningful for all learners. Originally born in India and raised in Indiana, Raka brings a unique perspective to her classroom, weaving together culture, storytelling, and creativity. She believes art is not only a way for students to explore technique and expression but also a tool to build confidence, community, and a lifelong appreciation for creativity.
