Framing Workshop

Students will learn how to use a mat cutter to cut single and double mats and how to use basic framing tools. You will learn how to preserve your artwork within a frame, then learn how to wire using d-hooks and wire. Plan to frame at least 2 pieces of artwork within a 16" x 20" frame (10" x 14" or smaller piece to be used). We will cut 4 mats all together.

Workshop will be 3 days: July 16, 17, and 18, 2019 from 5:00pm - 9:00pm

Workshop will provide:

Mats

Foam Board

Glass

Hardware, Tapes, Etc.

Student will provide:

At least 2 art pieces (not on canvas) to be frames; dimensions 10" x 14" or smaller

At least 2 16" x 20" open frames (can be purchased at Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Joanns, etc.)

Tape Measure

X-acto knife or razor

Straight Ruler

Optional tools to consider purchasing/bringing:

Personal mat cutter (can be purchased for as little as $100 at Hobby Lobby or Amazon)

Point Driver (costs average of $60 on Amazon).
