About the event
A product of the upper Midwest, Donna Arnold has been a Hoosier since 1980. She has been
teaching art equally as long, first as a high school art teacher, then as owner of Washington
Street School of Art, Goshen, IN, and, most recently, teaching classes in her studio in Carmel.
She holds a BFA from Ohio University and a Masters from IU, and has participated in many
workshops around the country to continue growth as an artist.
After years as a traditional landscape painter, Donna now works primarily in mixed media and
collage, blending watercolor and acrylic. Much of her new work involves creating completely
experimental surfaces to create surprising effects that are developed into finished paintings.
"I think being an artist is a gift that involves not just giving to others through your work, but it is
a life-long, never ending challenge to learn, push yourself and grow. The challenge of working
in this free form/structured manner requires me to move beyond what is comfortable, what is
known. That's the key to real creativity."
Arnold is a signature member of the Watercolor Society of Indiana, Indiana Artist's Club,
Hamilton County Art Association, and the Santa Rita Art League, Green Valley, AZ.
