The Hamilton County Artists' Association holds various classes, workshops, demonstrations, and open studios throughout the year. Please check back or subscribe to get updated when new classes become available.

Figure Drawing Open Studio

The Birdie Gallery will be open selected Thursdays from 6pm-9pm for a figure drawing/painting open studio, depending upon interest. There is a $10 fee to pay the models each week. Please contact Stephanie Spay if you are interested!

Acrylic Painting for Beginners 

This is Your Opportunity… learn to paint in Acrylics! Bold, beautiful, and easy for beginners! Julie Crum will get you started, in four easy weeks in the new year.


Julie is a Juried Artist Member of the Hamilton County Artists’ Association and has a BS in Art and Design from John Brown University in Arkansas.   She is excited to share her love of painting in an encouraging and welcoming atmosphere. Classes will begin (Session 1) Tuesday January 7 and continue through the month. Then (Session 2) February 18 and 25 and March 3 and 10.  The time will be 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and snow dates TBD!  (Ages 14 years and up)


Participants are asked to bring the supplies that they have….as a start!   Brushes, exiting supply of paints, clean rags, and a water container.   Please bring a canvas 11x14 or larger and a photo of your choice (no faces or animals).   Julie will walk your through the beginning steps and allow you to “bloom.”


Cost is $70 for Each Session!
