Join artist Carol Strock Wasson as you explore creativity and elevate your artistic skills in this comprehensive workshop dedicated to the intricate art of layering with pastels. Designed for artists of all levels, this hands-on experience will guide you through essential techniques and creative approaches to achieve depth, texture, and richness in your pastel artwork. Throughout the workshop, you will receive valuable information and exercises that will be emailed to you as a PDF after the workshop ends. Each day will conclude with a group critique of your work and exercises completed that day. Date: Thursday, September 25 - Saturday, September 27, 2025 Time: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm Age Requirements: Adults (16+) with beginner to intermediate experience Supply List: Paper: UArt sanded pastel paper (320 or 400 grit) or Ampersand Pastel-bord, sizes: 9x12, 12x16, 16x20, 18x24. You can also make your own pastel boards using Masonite or gatorboard, and pastel ground by Golden or use Clear Gesso with tooth by Liquitex. Pastels: Bring the pastels you usually work with. Additional pastels will be provided for your use. Your pastels should include: *a good range of values (light, medium, dark) *a good range of neutral colors (warm and cool) * a set of neutral greys Additional Supplies: Gloves (optional) Gray Scale Value Chart and Color Wheels (optional) Drawing Tools - Vine charcoal, Pencils 2B-6B Photos or iPad with photos Paper towels, baby wipes, rags Tape (Black or Neutral) Provided Supplies: Clear gesso, brayers, squeegees, tools for mark making, cheap brushes, rags, 18x24 sketch paper for experimentation Artist Bio: Carol Strock Wasson, a Master Pastelist and award-winning artist, specializes in vibrant plein air and studio pastels. A member of prestigious art societies, she exhibits nationally and teaches at her Union City, Indiana studio. Her work captures rural landscapes with spontaneity, rich color, and dynamic design. Cancellation Policy

Cancellation within seven or more days' notice prior to the start date of the 1st class is 95% refunded (represents 5% transaction fee). Cancellation with two to six days' notice is 45% refunded (includes 5% transaction fee). Cancellation with less than 24 hours notice is 0% refunded but registration is transferrable.
