Homeschool Studio (Yearlong Course)

See the dates in the description. ** Class Description: Welcome to Homeschool Studio, where students learn about the elements of art and principles of design through a monthly art curriculum! Taught by licensed art educator Heather Ray Boelke, this course provides engaging hands-on lessons for ages 5 to 12, including concepts of art history and art theory with creative and fine-motor development. Register for one session, or reserve your student’s seat for the full school year. Supplemental at-home curriculum will be available for purchase. September 4th: Starting with lines and shapes October 2nd: Explorations in color theory November 6th: Working in relief, form and texture December 4th: Creating with strong values February 5th: Unity in art March 5th: Emphasis on focal point April 2nd: Balance and symmetry May 7th: Repetition and reproduction Supply List: All materials will be provided by the instructor. Dates: First Thursdays of the month (see dates in description) Time: 11:00 am - 12:00 pm Age Requirements: Children (12 and under) Artist Bio: Heather Ray Boelke is a Westfield-based artist and art educator. She has been teaching art in central Indiana for more than a decade, to all ages and abilities. Now a mother of three young girls, Boelke is sharing her depth of knowledge and experience from public school teaching in private venues. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Visual Art Teaching from the University of Southern Indiana and a Master of Education in Special Education from Marian University.
