Discover the magic of fluid art! Dive into the colorful world of paint pouring as we explore the basics of color theory, learn the fascinating science behind flowing paint, and experiment with a variety of pouring techniques. Each student will create several one-of-a-kind abstract artworks full of vibrant color, movement, and surprise—no two pieces will ever be the same! Because these creations need time to dry and cure, finished projects will be available for pickup at a later date. Come ready to play, experiment, and embrace the unexpected! Date: Saturday, August 1, 2026 Time: 9:00 - 11:00 am Age Requirements: Ages 12+, no experience required Supplies provided. Artist Instructor Bio: Raka Kingsland is the Lead Art Teacher for Indianapolis Public Schools, where she teaches visual art to students in grades K–5. Certified to teach K–12, Raka has been inspiring young artists for over eight years. She earned her degree in Special Education and Art Education from Valparaiso University and is passionate about making art accessible and meaningful for all learners. Originally born in India and raised in Indiana, Raka brings a unique perspective to her classroom, weaving together culture, storytelling, and creativity. She believes art is not only a way for students to explore technique and expression but also a tool to build confidence, community, and a lifelong appreciation for creativity. Cancellation within seven or more days' notice prior to the start date of the 1st class is 95% refunded (represents 5% transaction fee). Cancellation with two to six days' notice is 45% refunded (includes 5% transaction fee). Cancellation with less than 24 hours notice is 0% refunded but registration is transferrable.
