In this hands-on cyanotype workshop, you'll discover one of the oldest photographic printing processes while creating beautiful, one-of-a-kind blue-and-white artworks. Experiment with natural objects, found materials, and creative compositions as you learn how light transforms specially coated paper into stunning prints. From preparing your paper to arranging your design and watching the magic happen during exposure, you'll experience every step of the cyanotype process. No prior art experience is needed—just bring your curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to get your hands a little messy. You'll leave with several unique prints and the inspiration to keep exploring this fascinating art form at home! Artist Instructor Bio: Raka Kingsland is the Lead Art Teacher for Indianapolis Public Schools, where she teaches visual art to students in grades K–5. Certified to teach K–12, Raka has been inspiring young artists for over eight years. She earned her degree in Special Education and Art Education from Valparaiso University and is passionate about making art accessible and meaningful for all learners. Originally born in India and raised in Indiana, Raka brings a unique perspective to her classroom, weaving together culture, storytelling, and creativity. She believes art is not only a way for students to explore technique and expression but also a tool to build confidence, community, and a lifelong appreciation for creativity.
